As I do not use the ones you use, I assume we have to hope that other XFCE users tune in here.Īnd indeed, you can not edit your posts after about 5 minutes (just for repairing a typo you see direct after posting). I assume it is a feature of the applications or the desktop (or a combination). And thus they did not understand what you were after. Part of the confusion is that you call a "problem", what many may see as a feature. Thank you for trying to explain. All much clearer now.
The file manager is thunar, what i expected to see when opening that or smplayer is just the name of the folder or video and not the hostname at all. Program name: SMPlayer 19.5.0 (Media player) SMPlayer is a free and open-source graphical front-end for MPlayer. I wasn't clear but what i mean is i don't want to see the hostname on the file manager or video players i want to hide it from those title bars.
Sorry i got your pm but i dont see how to edit my own post, maybe i cant or i just dont see the button.
YaST will change in several places where you might forget one or two.īut, I am not even sure this is what the OP asked. I think the best way to change the hostname of a system is to use YaST > System > Network Settings. IMHO one should not change the hostname of IP address 127.0.01 (if that is what you want to say). To get rid of window decorations you have to have a look at your window manager.įor XFCE (my window manager) here is a script that does the trick (with a keyboard shortcut).Just "sudo vi /etc/hostname" and change the name to what you want to see then reboot to set the new name.Ĭhange the vi to whatever text editor you like if you don't like vi - like pluma, nano, leafpad.
You can also change the hotkeys and make pg-up "play next" by going to Tools, Preferences, HotKeys (names differ strongly in non-English, from German translation it must be Extras, Properties, HotKeys - but you can reach it through Ctrl+ P) and choose your keys there for yourself.Īnd using a skin you can make VLC look like a media player if you desire this.Īnother view that might be interesting to you: The sans-playlist minimal controls view: There are more keyboard controls available, as I usually don't use them myself I can't tell how intuitive they are ( here's a list). The key is n for next and p for previous. of page title (thus, a list of the concepts Extra11 - MPV Armoured window bars. You have some presets that you can acitvate (like h for a minimaist player, l (small L) toggles between video/visual and playlist. ini (important: be sure SMPlayer is not running when you.
The key is Ctrl + h or F11 whether you want to see other windows or not. I suggest VLC even though you have already tried it.
